The Atlantic Highway- Why not take the scenic route on your trip to Cornwall?
All along the north coast of Cornwall is the Atlantic Highway, the best way to see the Cornish landscape on your way to your holiday home, hotel or B&B.
The Atlantic Highway (A39) starts when you leave the M5 motorway on your way from Bristol or London. Heading past Tiverton takes you to the north of Devon, where you can begin to see the beauty of the English coastline from your car on the original road into Cornwall.

The seaside towns of Barnstaple and Bideford make great places for a holiday in a cottage, but for the full Atlantic Highway experience you must continue your drive into Cornwall.
After passing the beaches of Bude you will see the historic Tintagel, reputed home of legendary King Arthur. Further west you travel across northern tip of Bodmin Moor and through the small town of Camelford, before you get to Wadebridge and the turning for the world famous restaurants of Padstow.
As you reach the end of the Highway in the centre of Cornwall, you will have seen some of the most picturesque countryside in Britain.
The A39 continues past the end of the traditional Atlantic Highway through Truro and finally ends up on the south coast at Falmouth. Or you can take the A30 towards Land’s End to continue your tour of Cornwall.
